2016 Realtor Action Day

Hundreds of local real estate professionals spread out across the county today, working on over a dozen community projects as part of the second annual "Realtor Action Day." Organized in large part by the Wilmington Association of Realtors, and sponsored by several local mortgage firms and area subdivisions - including BB&T, PNC, North State Bank, Gateway Bank, Wells Fargo, Brunswick Forest, and Riverlights. Many thanks for their support!

A few dozen gents from the Wilmington office of Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage paired up with Wilmington Green to install a community garden at St. John's Episcopal Church in Forest Hills. Mayor Bill Saffo, a Sea Coaster himself, even turned up to help! The project was blessed by Rev. Dr. Thomas Barnett, who was exuberantly grateful for our volunteers coming out on this dreary Tuesday morning. Food grown in the 12 planter beds will be shared with a local food bank, a program implemented at several other locations throughout the state, as explained by David Brenner with Wilmington Green.

Other opportunities included visiting with seniors at the Davis facility in Porter's Neck, planting sea oats in Topsail Beach, general maintenance at the Boys & Girls Club, and picking up pine cones at Hugh McRae park.
